Dallas Wings All-Star Satou Sabally drew plenty of reactions from hoops fans after her eye-opening comments about Caitlin Clark’s impact on the WNBA.

For those who missed it, Sabally shared her perspective on the ongoing narrative that Clark is the only reason the WNBA is experiencing the popularity it currently has.

While the Wings forward believes that the Indiana Fever rookie is unmistakably the face of the league right now, she also emphasized that Clark is not the only reason for the increased attention on it.

Sabally didn’t deny the huge role that Clark is playing, but at the end of the day, she also wants the work of her peers to be recognized.

“I think the WNBA narrative right now is Caitlin Clark and I think that’s a good narrative, but it’s also not the only narrative,” Sabally said before heaping praise on the Fever star as a “generational” talent.

After hearing Satou Sabally’s thoughts on Caitlin Clark, fans were quick to heap praise on the German star and commend her for respectfully and eloquently addressing the matter without putting anyone down.

“This was the best convo wrapped around the caitlin clark situation thus far. Great job by both,” a fan commented.

Another viewer said, “And she is right! No one is jealous! Men telling women that they are jealous and catty is ridiculous! Did anyone say that the guys in the NBA were jealous of Wemby? No. It’s basketball, the women just want the same respect and opportunities, but they have to play hard and put them your there. Love everything she said!”

“This is the BEST response I have seen concerning this WNBA season,” another social media user wrote.

A fourth supporter argued, “Everything she said was perfect… for the those in the comments it’s okay to not be aware… before CC played college ball .. teams like Seattle, Phoenix, Las Vegas, LA, Chicago, New York.. most of the teams were drawing HUGE CROWDS the last handful of years, few seasons had sold out gyms.. the league was headed in this direction no matter what.. but at the same time CC is blowing the league up… she’s to kind tho. She’s gonna explode on the media and players soon enough, just human nature.”

Sabally is certainly spot-on with her take. Caitlin Clark is the boost that the WNBA needed to really break through, but at the end, many others have put in and are putting the work to further elevate the league.
