Jake Paul is taking an unconventional approach to promote his upcoming summer clash against Mike Tyson.

Known for his unwavering confidence, Paul surprised many during the kickoff press conference at the Apollo Theater in New York by admitting his feelings of vulnerability and fear ahead of the July 20 bout.

“I understand the challenge of facing Tyson,” Paul confessed. “I anticipate encountering adversity, and I’m prepared for the possibility of hitting the canvas. It’s intimidating, no doubt. But true bravery lies in facing your fears head-on.”

However, Paul quickly followed up his admission with a bold counterargument.

“I have full confidence in my ability to handle Tyson’s power,” he asserted. “Being a natural-born heavyweight, this is my calling. I’m determined to prove who possesses the greater power in the ring. Many underestimate me, including Mike himself. But I believe I hit harder. Get ready for an exhilarating showdown – it’s going to be a thrilling spectacle for the fans.”

Paul’s journey into professional boxing commenced in 2020, and his second pro fight was featured on the undercard of Tyson’s exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr.

Scheduled for eight rounds with two-minute durations and 14-ounce gloves, the Tyson-Paul bout promises to be an electrifying event.

“This fight has been a long time coming,” Paul reflected. “After years of exchanging challenges, we’ve finally made it happen, on Netflix, the world’s largest platform. It’s a historic moment. Mike wanted this to be a professional showdown, a true test of wills. If he can silence the YouTuber narrative by defeating me, he’ll be hailed a hero.”

Paul’s rise in the boxing world has been meteoric since his professional debut, with notable victories over former MMA champions Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, as well as decision wins against UFC stalwarts like Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva.

“While some may view me as arrogant, I’m simply here to entertain,” Paul remarked. “Older fans may root for Tyson, but I’ve garnered support from the younger generation who want to see me triumph. They call him ‘Iron’ Mike, but I’m ‘Titanium’ Jake Paul.”

At 58, Tyson, once the most feared heavyweight, last fought professionally in 2005.

“I’m well aware of the skepticism surrounding me,” Paul acknowledged. “People doubt my abilities, suggesting that a victory would be rigged due to my performance. But age doesn’t define skill. Tyson is a formidable opponent, but I’ve dedicated four years to honing my craft at an elite level. On July 20, I’ll demonstrate my boxing prowess, silence the critics, and emerge victorious.”

With anticipation building for the clash between these two titans, boxing fans worldwide eagerly await the momentous showdown that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the sport’s history.
