Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce has added yet another impressive title to his already illustrious resume: movie producer.

Known for his prowess on the football field as an All-Pro selection, nine-time Pro-Bowler, and three-time Super Bowl champion, Kelce has now stepped into the world of filmmaking with his debut executive producer credit on the new dark comedy drama “My Dead Friend Zoe.”

The film boasts an impressive cast including Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Gloria Reuben.

Premiering over the weekend at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, “My Dead Friend Zoe” received significant attention and praise, despite Kelce’s absence from the event.

While the movie made its debut in Austin, Kelce was thousands of miles away in Singapore, supporting his girlfriend Taylor Swift as she performed on one of her six dates on the Eras Tour.

Cameras captured Kelce in a suit, attentively watching Swift’s performance, and later accompanying her out of the arena and to a restaurant after the concert.

Hausman-Stokes expressed his gratitude for Kelce’s involvement in the project, noting the added limelight and energy Kelce brought to the film.

The film’s synopsis offers a glimpse into its compelling storyline, which revolves around Merit, a U.S. Army Afghanistan veteran grappling with her complicated friendship with Zoe, her deceased best friend from the Army.

Despite the intervention of her VA group counselor, the tough love of her mother, and an unexpected love interest, Merit finds solace in her friendship with Zoe until her estranged grandfather requires help, challenging Merit to confront her past and embrace healing.

But he missed the movie’s premiere at SXSW – choosing instead to be in Singapore

While “My Dead Friend Zoe” made waves at SXSW, it has yet to secure a distributor or set a date for a wider release.

However, with Kelce’s involvement and the film’s poignant themes, it is poised to resonate with audiences and potentially secure a broad audience upon its eventual release.

Kelce’s foray into movie production adds another dimension to his multifaceted career, showcasing his versatility and commitment to storytelling beyond the football field.

As he continues to make strides in both sports and entertainment, Kelce’s impact reaches far beyond the gridiron, leaving a lasting impression on fans and audiences alike.
