Actor John Cena appears on the Oscars 2024 stage to present the award for Best Costume Design for the film Poor Things. The actor shockingly went naked, taking an envelope of the winner’s name to cover the sensitive area.

Variety said the move was meant to recall one of the craziest moments in Oscars history.

That’s when a naked man ran on stage at the 46th Oscars (1974) when David Niven was introducing Elizabeth Taylor.

It was the blossoming period of the ’70s fan trend, when nudists frequently interrupted public events.

“I changed my mind. I don’t feel right about this. This is an elegant event, you know.
You should now feel ashamed of proposing such a tasteless joke,” John Cena told host Jimmy Kimmel.

Jimmy Kimmel found the situation funny, while John Cena insisted, “The male body is not a joke!”

Later, when the camera was pointed elsewhere, John Cena was assisted in dressing up to present the award to the Poor Things crew.

John Cena entered this year’s Oscars thanks to his cameo in the film, which is receiving 8 nominations in many important categories.

The actor is also getting a lot of attention for his film Ricky Stanicky which he stars alongside Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino.
