Mike Tyson was easily the face of boxing during his prime and remained at the top of the heavyweight division.

He is normally compared to legendary figures like Muhammad AliSugar Ray Leonard, and other boxing goats.

While his fighting prowess was similar to theirs, Tyson’s lifestyle as a boxer was quite different. This can be seen from his history of partying and consuming drugs, which he was well known for during his prime.

Tyson has even admitted that he has been drinking and smoking since he was a young boy because of his family.

Subsequently, this continued even after he became a professional boxer. As such, he would often drink, smoke, and consume drugs, even during his illustrious career as a boxer.

Years after his retirement and after gaining wisdom with his age, Tyson reflected on this during an interview with Nick Kyrgios.

I always trained after I got high, party. I burnt the candle at both ends, I trained hard, and I partied hard.

The former champion revealed that he has always remained disciplined in his craft and never took shortcuts.

However, this never stopped him from indulging in parties or drugs during his youth. He remarked how he did both and indulged in drugs the way he trained.

Tyson also stated that he would always train the next day, even after a night of partying. In addition, he remarked how he destroyed his body in both ways by training hard and consuming drugs.

This never stopped him from achieving and having an illustrious career.
