The anticipation is palpable as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson gear up to square off in an eight-round bout, slated to be broadcasted live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20.

In the lead-up to the highly-anticipated match, Jake Paul hasn’t been shy about sharing his thoughts on facing off against the legendary Mike Tyson.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight ahead of their press conference, Paul expressed gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledged the magnitude of stepping into the ring with Tyson.

“I’m just humbled and honored and grateful for this opportunity and thankful for Mike — it just shows that hard work pays off,” Paul remarked, reflecting on the significance of the upcoming showdown.

Despite the stark age difference between the two fighters, with Tyson being twice Paul’s age at 58, the 27-year-old influencer-turned-boxer recognizes the unique challenges Tyson poses

“I think the age is a double-edged sword because, on one side, I could be younger and maybe faster but he’s older, [he] has that old man strength and has.

The experience of fighting since he was like six or seven years old,” Paul admitted, acknowledging Tyson’s formidable experience in the ring.

Acknowledging the contrast in their styles, Paul likened their matchup to that of a bull and a matador. “He’s the bull, I’m the matador, and it’s that simple,” he quipped, highlighting the strategic aspect of their impending bout.

Despite Tyson’s storied career and wealth of experience, Paul remains confident in his own abilities and the guidance of his coaching team.

“Speed and timing beats power… There’s an art to boxing and although he’s been doing it his whole life, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing.

Something if you haven’t been doing it the right way and I believe my coaches are the best in the world,” Paul asserted, underscoring his belief in his training regimen and preparation for the fight.

As the countdown to July 20 continues, fans eagerly await the clash between these two formidable opponents, poised to deliver an unforgettable spectacle in the world of boxing.
