Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso could form one of the most dangerous duos in the WNBA. Both of them have a knack for success around the rim, with top-level defensive prowess.

Reese is currently at No. 2 in terms of WNBA rookies, with a scoring average of 11.6 points. She’s also produced 9.6 boards and 1.6 steals. Her partner in crime hasn’t played too much this season,

Cardoso suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason that had her sidelined for nearly a month.

She’s played in four games, posting some extremely streaky statlines. Cardoso has had two games scoring one point and two points and has then had matchups where she plugs in 11 points or 13 points.

It’s clear that neither rookie is completely comfortable with the league, but they’ll continue to work and grow together.

During the 2024 WNBA draft, Cardoso was selected with the No. 3 overall pick, while Reese was taken at No. 7. Whether the Sky were looking to build a dynamic duo or just grabbing the best player available, it seems the two are finding chemistry on the floor.

With a duo comes a nickname. WNBA fans online are calling the duo of Reese and Cardoso AK-15. Many fans seem to love the name for the pairing of Reese and Cardoso, mentioning it’s a spot-on fit.
